Tests of divisibility

All of us know division,right.But if we made dividing bigger numbers easy,then?Here are some ways to make division of big no's. easy.

1]Divisibility by 2:


A no. is said to be divisible by 2 if the digits in its ones place is an even no. that is either 2,4,6,8 or 0.



2]Divisibility by 5:

A no. is said to be divisible by 5 if digits in its ones place is either 5 or 0.




3]Divisibility by 3

A no. is said to be divisible by 3 if the sum of all the digits is divisible by 3.

Example-4392126/3

= 4+3+9+2+1+2+6=27 

27/3=9

27 is divisible by 3 so the no. 4392126 is also divisible by 3.



4]Divisibility by 4

A no. is said to be divisible by 4 if the digits in the ones and tens place is divisible by 4

Example-1562484

No. formed at ones and tens place=84

84/4=21

84 is divisible by 4 so the no. 1562484 is also divisible by 4.



5]Divisibility by 8

 A no. is divisible by 8 if the no. formed by the digits at the ones,tens,hundreds place is divisible by 8.

Example-4544280

No. formed at ones,tens,hundreds place=280

280/8=35

280 is divisible by 8 so the no. 4544280 is also divisible by 8.



6]Divisibility by 9

A no. is divisible by 9 if the sum of all the digits is divisible by 9.

Example-47258118

=4+7=2+5+8+1+1+8=36

36/9=4

36 is divisible by 9 so the no. 47258118 is also divisible by 9.
